Most of the furniture is made from reclaimed vintage pine from local railway station buildings. We cook delicious, fresh, award winning fish and chips, which is what Hanbury’s is famous for. Cosy Club – Cheltenham
Cheltenham is one of our favourite places to go and grab a bite to eat, it’s really local to us and not only that but it has so many gluten free restaurants to choose from you never get fed up of trying to find somewhere. At the weekend we decided we would eat at The Cosy Club, somewhere we haven’t ventured before. When we arrived we were greeted by a waiter who seated us and gave me my own gluten free menu, always a bonus to have this than to ask the person serving you to deconstruct what you can and can’t have. I was really surprised by the extent of the gluten free menu here, they pretty much had a bit of everything and I didn’t feel like I was restricted by what I could have. This ranged from breakfast items, mains, starters, sides and even tapas. There were so many things I wanted off this menu I decided to have a couple of the tapas as my starters, squid with chorizo and roasted turmeric cauliflower. The cauliflower was particularly tasty, the first time I’ve tried it and definitely not the last. The waiter was particularly attentive to us […]
Prezzo – Cheltenham
After a trip to the cinema last weekend we stopped by at our local Prezzo in the Brewery in Cheltenham. I absolutely love Cheltenham for gluten free eating, there are so many places to choose from and you really are spoilt for choice. Prezzo has always been a restaurant that we visit quite frequently due to their great selection of gluten and dairy free food offered on the menu. In fact this was the first gluten free restaurant I visited after I had to give up gluten and I’ve never looked back. Always great service and food. We were seated straight away when we arrived and asked if anyone in the party needed a different menu from the norm. I haven’t visited many places that ask this so this was a refreshing change. The meatballs on the starters part of the menu seems to of become a staple part of my diet when I come here , however due to the ingestion of pick and mix we decided to skip starters and go straight to mains. They had a few new things on the menu which my partner tried but I decided to stick to what I know and love […]
Dough – Manchester
Manchester really is great for gluten free places to eat. There are so many to choose from, we were very spoilt for choice, but I see people recommend Dough all the time. We just had to go there. My son was also particularly impressed as they do different shaped pizzas for kids, including a dinosaur and Mickey Mouse alongside kids cocktails in the theme of their favourite characters like Super Mario and Cinderella so that’s one major tick for him. I love going somewhere where they really include the kids, makes for a better meal all round. What I really liked about Dough is that every pizza can be made on a gluten free base and there are so many different styles of toppings you don’t find anywhere else. I felt really spoilt for choice. I was torn between most of the menu to be honest, Chicken Balti, Surf and Turf or even a calzone. Had we not of been getting a cooked breakfast every morning in the hotel I would of gone for the full English pizza, but I decided to go for BBQ Pulled Pork with Apple slaw. It arrived with specific gluten free and dairy free card […]
Honest Burgers – Manchester
Honest Burgers is one of the places you just have to visit if you have one in the area. My closest one is well over an hour away so while on a trip to Manchester we thought we’d take take the opportunity and I’m so glad we did. When we arrived at 4pm we couldn’t believe how busy it was, great sign of good food for sure. We were seated and the waitress explained that everything, yes…everything is gluten free when you sub the bun! Music to my ears. I already knew the onion rings were gluten free and that’s a major rarity for a restaurant so I knew I would be ordering those. There’s a special burger for every restaurant, based on an ingredient that can be found locally which I thought was great. I opted for the Manchester Local Special which consisted of their Honest Beef, Bury Black Pudding (yes gluten free), Runaway Beer cheese sauce, mini roasties, bacon gravy, rocket and pickles. A burger lovers dream. All the burgers come with Rosemary Salted Chips too, another amazing thing about this restaurant as a lot of places make you order a side separately, so value for money here […]
